Situated on the 40th floor of Liverpool Street’s Heron Tower, The Duck and Waffle is an elegant yet relaxed venue suitable for those looking for an exquisite breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The Duck and Waffle is situated in the heart of the city’s business district, although the clientele is a nice mixture of suited finance workers and regular diners so visitors needs not feel intimidated by the restaurant’s fancy setting. Although there is no official dress code, it is better to err on the side of caution and go for smart casual.

The food here is simply delicious and the menu provides some interesting mixtures. The eponymous duck and waffle may sound like an odd combination, but they go together superbly. Another personal favourite is the bacon-wrapped dates, along with the scallops.

The Duck and Waffle is rather pricey – brunch for two with coffee cost around £65 – although this is a bit misleading as there were five large plates of different things which kept us easily full up for the rest of the day. Still, the views from the 40th floor more than make up for the expense, and The Duck and Waffle is definitely somewhere visitors to London should try out.

Yeah, he has no shame.
