There are obviously a multitude of Italian restaurants – in fact, so many, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed with choice. However, one of the best in South London is Eco.
Eco has built itself a heritage in Clapham, having served pizzas and pastas in the area for over 20 years. It has also recently undergone a refurbishment to offer the latest in contemporary design, while the restaurant also supplies baby changing facilities and free Wi-Fi.
Anyone who visits a restaurant frequently soon learns which is their favourite dish of choice, and for me Eco is no exception. I usually always go for the wild mushroom, pecorino and truffle oil pizza. However, the pastas are also excellent – the classic carbonara is deliciously creamy and the vongole is perfect for fans of seafood, containing clams and white wine bisque.
As well as being a great restaurant for dinner, Eco supplies a wide range of breakfast foods at the weekend. These all take inspiration from classic Italian eating, with key selections being the egg, bacon or sausage bruschetta and the smoked salmon and scrambled egg bruschetta. Of course, the classics like eggs benedict or a full English breakfast are also available.
Eco is one of the finest Italian restaurants in the local area, and is well worth a visit for both couples and those with young families.
