The cinema has always been a classic way to chill out on a rainy day, and there are many fine cinemas around London. However, one of my favourites is Clapham Picture House.
The Picture House chain has a number of cinemas around London, although the Clapham establishment is my favourite. The cinema is clean, tidy and relaxed, while the staff are very friendly and helpful.
There is always a great selection of movies at the cinema, ranging from the latest blockbusters to more arthouse or foreign films. There are also additional screenings for the hard of hearing, or afternoon sessions specially catering to parents with young children.
The bar is fully stocked and the cinema even allows you to take drinks through with you into the screening room. A membership program is also available, offering free movie tickets and discounts at the bar, although if you are only visiting London for a short time this is probably not worth your while.
If you need a few hours to kill on a rainy day (which, considering this is London, is highly likely!), a trip to the Clapham Picture House cinema is a great bet.
