It hasn’t escaped our attention here at True London that it is a little chilly right now in London and that arctic wind is certainly making our faces hurt. A lot. However, the thought of summer festivals is warming us up very nicely indeed and East London’s Lovebox weekender is sure to get your temperature rising.
Lovebox is quite simply London’s answer to Glastonbury. Set in the historic Victoria Park (considered by some as the finest park in East London) Lovebox is one of London’s best festivals and turns the grand old age of eleven this year. The line up hasn’t actually been announced yet, but based on last year’s eclectic mix of artists which included Magnetic Man, Groove Armada, Bobby Womack, Grace Jones and Lana Del Rey I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. You should expect a diverse mix of underground DJs and the best names from the London nightlife scene, rap and hip hop stars, live electronica and disco divas all played out on dramatic stages and against the backdrop of giant art installations.
Lovebox is impressive and holds its own against some of the bigger players in the festival scene, but it is also brilliantly diverse with a music-loving crowd. Most importantly it is lots and lots of fun.
